The Avon Valley GM School & Performing Arts College, Rugby

The Avon Valley School in Rugby is a successful 11-16 Foundation secondary school of approximately 1100 students. It achieved specialist Performing Arts College status in 2004 which was redesigned in June 2007.

Disaster struck In June 2004, when the main school building was almost completely destroyed by fire leaving only a few separate school buildings intact. Temporary buildings were quickly erected and Nebula Computers supplied the school with approximately 100 desktop computer systems and peripherals. This ensured that teaching and administrative duties could continue.

Over the next 3 years Nebula Computers continued to enjoy a successful working relationship with Avon Valley School supplying more computer systems and peripherals. During this period a new main school building was under construction. This new building is now up and running and opened its doors to students in September 2007.

In May 2007, Nebula Computers were successful in their bid to supply Avon Valley School with well in excess of 200 desktop computer systems for the curriculum and art department.  Nebula Computers achieved their target of building all the new computer systems with in a 4 week period ready for delivery in July 2007.

The "Roscars", Rotherham LEA

The "Roscars" has  been annual event for Rotherham Schools since 2004.  The event is a film competition originally open to Primary Schools including foundation stages, where pupils have the opportunity to enter by producing a 2 minute fact or fictional film with their Digital Blue Movie Creator.  The Rosars has since been opened to older pupils and became part of their course work, with catagories including Animation, Music Video and Moving Image.

The Roscars has been a major success and in later events has attracted many more entrants and schools.  The event itself is an "Oscars" style evening with nearly 1000 guests dressed in evening gowns and dinner suits including pupils, parents, teachers, advisors and representatives from sponsoring companies.

Nebula Computers has been a sponsor of the "Roscars" since 2004, donating prizes from digital cameras to computer systems, including the 2D life sized Hollywood Stars which made a dramatic appearance at the 2006 event.
